The Chinese Tea

By that time I was already in full-blown psychosis, but when you are in this state, you don’t really notice. And why should you, especially when you feel happy and complete at the same time? Psychosis as such is a culturally misunderstood concept, but if you ask me, it is a state that most of … Continue reading The Chinese Tea →

Amsterdam and psychosis

So, I was analysing banks on that particular morning. Or rather I was trying to analyse them. The task can be considered as easy, of course, but not when you hate analysis and banks in particular. Mind you, till that rainy morning I wasn’t aware of my problem. In fact, I had no problem whatsoever. … Continue reading Amsterdam and psychosis →

About me

I was born in Moscow but since then lived in 3 other countries and speak 4 languages.
I did my studies in Brussels, and then in Amsterdam where I also worked as a financial analyst of banks and portfolio manager. I got mad there.
I moved later to Brussels again, where I worked as a recruiter, before moving to the UK where I obtained a PhD bursary.
I love books, nature, interesting cafes, cats, and looking at manifestations of weirdness around me, as I believe that without it, the world would be a more boring place.

#TimetoTalk Madness and falling in love in amsterdam! What if the psychosis is actually real? What if it isn't a loss of touch with reality at all? How do we judge madness? What do we consider as 'mad'? With some experience, I reached the conclusion that we all have the potential for madness, but the degree of its manifestation is what really matters, in order to be considered as mental, or just slightly eccentric. New post on my blog (link in bio) Painting by Tony Robert-Fleury called 'La Salpetriere' (1795) On this painting is a famous clinician, Philippe Pinel, who was a chief physician at the famous 'mental' asylum 'La Salpetriere'. But I am interested in the 'patients'. Who are they? What happened to them? What is their story? #mentalhealth #mentalillness #bipolar #psychosis #schizophrenia #hallucinations #delusions #madstudies #asylum #stigma #mentalhealthawareness
